Health education is the development of individual, group, institutional, community and systemic strategies to improve health knowledge, attitudes, skills and behaviour. The purpose of health education is to positively influence the health behaviour of individuals and communities as well as the living and working conditions that influence their health. Public relations work carried out by the health include personal meetings and visits to institutions with specific objective of organising health education programs etc.

INFORMATION EDUCATION AND COMMUNICATION

Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) is a strategic approach to improving health and social outcomes through the dissemination of knowledge, awareness, and the promotion of behaviors that contribute to positive health changes. In the context of Gremaltes Hospital, IEC activities play a pivotal role in ensuring that the community is informed about available healthcare services, preventive health measures, and the importance of seeking timely medical care.

Integrating IEC strategies with field services at Gremaltes Hospital significantly enhances the hospital’s ability to reach a broader population, especially those in remote or underserved areas. By combining the use of digital media, printed resources, and direct community engagement through field services, the hospital ensures that health education and services are accessible, timely, and impactful. This approach empowers communities, reduces preventable diseases, and ultimately improves the health outcomes of individuals in the long term.
